Martha Stewart is the undisputed Queen of Halloween and on day three of GET YOUR GHOUL ON! MONTH, I've got three of my favorite creepy crafts from the First Lady of Fright to share with you.
Up first is something spooky for the ghoulish girls out there - a Ghost Glue Necklace.
I know what you're thinking - That looks complicated! - but trust me when I tell you that it really doesn't get any easier than this. First, take a piece of parchment paper and draw three ghost outlines on it with white glue. Let them set for five seconds and then fill in the outlines with more glue. Let your glue ghosts dry for two days and then peel them from the parchment paper. Use a felt-tipped pen to draw faces on the ghosts, punch a small hole at the top of each one and string them together to make a necklace. I told you - easy! You could even make the ghosts bigger and use them as ornaments or hang them in a window. The possibilities are endless!
This next project will give your little one a crash course in anatomy.
If your kids are old enough, they could try to make these Pasta Skeletons themselves or you can make them as Halloween decorations. The instructions are pretty obvious - using skeleton illustrations as a guide, glue dried pasta to construction paper to replicate them. And I love that Martha's team went one step further, using Alphabet Soup letters to make the labels.
Want an easy way to decorate your house for Halloween? Try making a garland like this one.
All you need is a pack of tissue paper, scissors and a shape for your garland, like a cat witch, pumpkin or ghost. To make the shape, you can print one out onto card stock or trace one on to cardboard or use something you already have - like this bat cookie cutter.
To make the garland, trace or draw your design across the full width of a package of folded tissue paper. Then cut along the outline, being careful to leave a bit uncut at the folded edges on both sides (this keeps the shapes connected to each other). When you're done, you'll have several strings of five or six shapes each that you can tape together to make a longer garland.
There are lots more amazing Halloween Craft ideas where these came from so head on over to Martha's website to see for yourself. And if you make any of these fun projects, be sure to send us pictures so we can feature your handiwork here on AFOMFT!
