A None Too Shabby Apple {GIVEAWAY & DISCOUNT}

Spring is in the air here in NYC today and you know what that means, right?  It's time to bust out all of my beloved dresses.  There's nothing I love more than putting on a fun frock, some stylin' shoes and sweet sunglasses.  It just makes me feel so.... I don't know.  Girly.  And Audrey Hepburn-esque, you know?

And one of my favorite places to get chic but well-priced dresses is Shabby Apple.  Why do I love them?  Well besides having fabulous designs, they make sure that all of their pieces are what dresses were meant to be - one-piece outfits.  You won't have to add a tank top or belt - if they're meant to have one, it's built in.  Like the Nine to Five dress, which I own.

All you need to add is a cute pair of shoes and you're good to go.  Their simple and stylish clothes make it that much easier to get out the door in the morning!

All of the Shabby Apple Women's Dresses are grouped by collections named after what inspired the designs.  The Oh La La dresses are influenced by the romance of Paris, like the fun L'Amour:

The earthiness of the Berkshires brings you the Cider:

The elegant Moon River dress comes from the All That Jazz collection:

The South Pacific dresses include the stunning North Shore:

Baja is where you'll find the pretty San Gabriel.

And the Marseilles dress comes from my hometown's Central Park collection.

Aren't they all gorgeous?  I would love to own each and every one.  But I'm not the only one who can dress up in Shabby Apple!  They also carry maternity dresses and kid's clothing.  Their little girls collection starts at size 6-12 months and runs to size 8 and they have pre-teen sizes available as well.  I know Gabrielle and Alaina would look adorable in the 45 Words Per Minute dress:

And the adorable Creamsicle wrap!

Too sweet!

In addition to designing fabulous dresses, Shabby Apple is also giving back. They're partnered with Unitus, a non-profit organization that uses micro-finance to help women overcome poverty and provide a better life for their children.  Shabby Apple donates 5% of its net sales to support women in India and each customer has the opportunity to donate an extra five dollars to Unitus every time she buys a dress.  Every $100 donation from provides at least 20 women with access to financial services to build their dream - and the chance to live a life without poverty. Clearly, buying a dress isn't just buying a dress.

If you're ready to kick-start your wardrobe, head on over to Shabby Apple and get to browsing.  I'm sure you'll find the perfect dress to put a spring in your step!

And one lucky AFOMFT reader is going to win one of her very own!  That's right - Shabby Apple has generously offered to give away any of the dresses I showed above.  You can choose from the women's or kid's designs.  How fabulous is that?

Sack It To Me! {GIVEAWAY & DISCOUNT}

When I attended the Martha Stewart Dreamers Into Doers Conference back in January, I had the opportunity to meet some amazing entrepreneurs who were truly "dreaming into doing," and one of those women was Rupa Wickrama.  Rupa, who worked in the fashion industry, started a company called Saky Sacks after she had a hard time finding multi-purpose bags that were not only functional but also stylish.  And let me tell you - her designs certainly live up to their tagline "Green Style on the Go!"

Made from Tyvek, a recyclable material, Saky Sacks are machine washable and tear, stain and water resistant.  Fellow moms, I know your ears just perked up!  And while those are amazing characteristics, the two things I love most about these bags is how lightweight they are and how small they fold up.  This is the Saky Weekend.
It measures 15” x 18” x  7.0” and can carry up to 25 pounds.  But get this - here's what it looks like folded up.
It's teeny tiny and so easy to carry in your purse for when you need it.  I know I'm not the only one who can't fit everything back in the diaper bag after taking it out or who needs an extra bag when I'm traveling just in case I want to do a little shopping on my trip, and Saky Sacks are the perfect solution!

Rupa sent me a Saky Weekend so I could get a look at the bags firsthand.  Here's what it looked like when it arrived, all cute and compact.

Here's the Weekend after being filled with lots of goodies with the girls.

And here's how my first attempt at re-folding it went.  Not too shabby!

Since then, I've gotten it down pat - it's super simple thanks to the hand instructions that come with each bag.

I've tried lots of other "green" bags but none of them has been anywhere close to the quality of Saky Sacks.  In addition to being easy to re-fold, the Weekend is so so lightweight, which is what you want if you're carrying around 25 pounds of stuff.  The hardware is pretty and well fastened to the bag and the material is really strong.  Whether I need to lug toys to the beach for the girls or just need to pack a quick bag for an overnight, I know which tote I'll be grabbing!

In addition to the Saky Weekend, there's the City Saky, which is smaller but can still tote up to 25 pounds.

As well as Sakccessories, two bags that clip to the larger bags and are ideal for your makeup, wallet, cell phones, etc,.

Saky Sacks start at $15 and go up to $25 so the price is right and there are lots of different patterns and designs to choose from.  And although it probably won't be for quite a while, when your bag does finally wear out, it's completely recyclable.  Good for the environment and good for your wallet.  Does it get any better than that?

Actually it does because Rupa has offered to give away a City Saky in Mod Floral to a lucky AFOMFT reader!

To enter, please visit the Saky Sacks site and post a comment here telling me which Saky Sacks pattern is your favorite (this is mandatory). For additional entries:

And that's not all!  Rupa is also offering readers of AFOMFT 25% off all purchases! Just enter code AFOMFT at Saky Sacks to get your discount.  Happy shopping!

Please note that I was sent a Saky Weekend bag for the purpose of this review and giveaway.  No other compensation was received.  The opinions I've shared of this product are my own and yours may differ.

A Valentine's Day Dilemma {GIVEAWAY & DISCOUNT}

I'm all about dressing Gabrielle and Alaina up for Valentine's Day.  Two years ago, they were just a few months old so their get ups consisted of onesies and leggings.

Last year, I went with tutus and initial tees.

So you can probably guess what I'm on the hunt for now, right?  Luckily for me, klzart, one of my favorite Etsy sellers, just added has a whole bunch of Valentine's designs to her shop.  So what do you think?  Should I go with the LO-VE appliqued tops?

The super cute love bugs?

Or two of the Conversation Heart tees?

I'm kind of leaning toward the LO-VE set in these colors:

But getting the girls to sit together is a challenge enough these days, let alone sit in "order."  VE-LO may not translate!  So maybe I'll get the conversation hearts with their names in them instead.

Decisions, decisions!

All of the klzart tees feature hand sewn appliques, and while the listings state that they're for Twin-zies or Trip-zies, Kelly can customize them for siblings or friends, too, so if you need one onesie and one larger tee or just three different sizes, it's no problem.  I've posted before about how great the quality of her work is so if you're looking for the perfect Valentine's Day number for your kiddo, look no further!

And here's a sweet treat - Kelly has generously offered to give away one Conversation Heart Tee to a lucky AFOMFT reader (or if you want to buy a twin or trip set, she'll apply a $25 credit to your order)!  I want to make sure the winner gets it in time for Valentine's Day so this will be a very quick giveaway - it closes in just three days. To enter, post a comment here telling me what saying you'll put in your conversation heart if you win (this is mandatory). For additional entries:
