The Buzzzzz on Bee Parties {GIVEAWAY}

After I posted the Tweedle Dee Designs giveaway earlier this week featuring this "Sweet as Can Bee" tutu:

And coordinating party printables:

I got several e-mails asking for more bumble bee themed party ideas.  Well, this bee has been busy rounding up the best ones around just for you.

I can't talk about a bumble bee bash without sharing this amazing party put together by Scissors Paper Cake for Scarlett's first birthday.

Is that sweet or what?  I adore the honeycomb backdrop with a bee buzzing across which tied in with the adorable invitation (love the bee on the envelope too!) and the thank you note.

The details of this celebration were simple but perfect - honeycomb shapes and the yellow and white color scheme tied everything together.  Treats were wrapped in paper cones and displayed in glass containers.

Cardboard boxes with coordinating "yum!" labels were nearby to fill with goodies.

And the cupcakes and a birthday cake were all decorated with matching bees.

Thank you to imprintables for sharing this bee-utiful party!

Angie from Blonde Designs, one of my favorite sites, has a daughter named Bea, so the theme for her fist birthday was a combination of bees and the letter B.  The invitation established the color palette of orange and yellow.

And the image of the bumble bee was used throughout the bash.

When guests arrived, the little ones were escorted over to a make-your-own antenna station where they twisted pipe cleaners around headbands and added pom poms.

And then they played a game of pin the wings on the bee.

The drinks were color-coordinated orange Izzes and water with personalized labels.

And all of the desserts started with B, like brownies and blondies.

There was also a honey lemon beehive cake made using a Williams-Sonoma pan.

And a big B for little Bea. {get the how to here}

These delightful bee sugar cookies were given out as favors. {learn how to make them here}

What else was in these great goodies bags?

Homemade bumble bee barrettes:

And handmade coloring books with each child's name and initial on the cover.

Get the tutorials for both projects along with more pictures and details at Blonde Designs.

One more unbee-lieveable birthday bash comes from Domestic Life.  Each child got a "bee kit" when they arrived.

In it was a costume (a yellow crafts store tee with black stripes and a headband with pipe cleaner and pom pom antennae), a pollen collecting bucket, and goodie bag of yellow candy (lemon drops, juicy fruit gum, peanut M & M’s, etc.).  After they donned their costumes, the kids sets off with their buckets to collect "pollen" (actually butterscotch candies) from the yard.

Then they practiced transferring "honey" (water with yellow food coloring) from their buckets to jars.

And then they ate cake!

That looks like a fantastic way to celebrate a birthday!  Want some more ideas for how to make your little one's bash buzz-worthy?

How about kicking things off with this adorable printable invitation from The Tom Kat Studio?

Or this sweet printable from Anders Ruff, which is perfect for a boy or a girl.

And you can buy an entire Itty Bitty Bee printable party pack for just $10 from Parties By Hardie.  You get everything from invitations, thank you notes and party crowns....

To favor bag labels, cupcake toppers, confetti, party signs, food tags and labels.

You even get two different styles of birthday banners!

Is that a great deal or what?  And just look at how some happy customers used the Itty Bitty Bee pack to make their parties extra special.

While we're talking decorations, at Scarlett's party, the most darling tissue paper flowers sat on the table in glass vases.

You can easily make something similar, like this:

Using a golf ball!

Get the step-by-step instructions for how to make this flower and lots of others at Lolly Chops.

I've shown you this photo from Silly Bee's Chickadees before but if you're throwing a bumble bee bash, how can you not have loads of yellow pom poms and lanterns?

All of the guests at her party also got these pretty bee-adorned pom corsages.

And left with a jar filled with yellow jellybeans.

You can even make some bees from eggs to hang throughout the party. {find the instructions here}

When it comes to food, take a page from Scarlet's bash and create a dessert bar using ribbon and labels to tie everything together.  Here's another great example from P is For Party via Amorology Weddings.

And some more great inspiration from a baby shower thrown by Lollipop Events & Designs. {via Hostess with the Mostess, photos by Jasmine Marie Photography}

And when it comes to cakes, you can pick a honey-glazed beehive, like they had at Bea's bash. {get the recipe and how to at Martha Stewart}

Or go for a sweeter treat like this one from Family Fun. {the recipe is here}

You can even make bee cupcakes. {here's the how to}

Last but not least, you need an activity to keep your bees busy during the party so why not make your own beehive pinata? {get the tutorial here}

Now if these ideas don't get your mind buzzing, I don't know what will!
