My Five Favorite Pins This Week

I posted about my addiction to Pinterest last week (wondering what Pinterest is? Find out here!), and despite seeking help (read: trying to distract myself by doing something more productive), my obsession is still going strong.  Since I'm determined to get everyone as hooked on it as I am, here are my five favorite pins this week:

#1: It's time to plant that garden again, so why not add some whimsy by using old rain boots as planters?  {Pin via Amy via Iwona Estera from Rosy Posy}

#2: This play kitchen is so cute, it's hard to believe it was DIYed from cardboard! {Pin via Stacy of KSW via Kristin Hayes from Family Fun}

#3:  I love this idea for a kid's gallery wall in what could be dead space in the hallway between bedrooms.  {Pin via Stacy of KSW via Kristal Flentge from A Soft Place to Land}

#4:  Make rainy days tons more fun with this DIY doorway puppet theater. {Pin via luvinthemommyhood via Beth Stedman from Little Lovables}

#5:  These oversized, fabric-covered bulletin boards have me swooning! {My pin via Effortless Style}

FIVE FAST FAVES: 02.25.10

It's cold and snowy and dreary outside my window today so I'm dreaming of springtime and color and sunshine.  Good thing it's Thursday so I can that inspiration for another set of FIVE FAST FAVES, my round up of grown up goodies I'm loving this week!

 

1.  Sassy Striped Trench from Target
On a gray day like today, the idea of wearing this lovely lemon-y trench makes me smile.  I need this.  Stat!

2.  Ruffled Dot Print Tunic  from eShakti
Love the clothes from Anthropologie but not the prices? Then eShakti is the sit for you!  You'll find adorable clothes like this tunic for a fraction of what you would at Anthro.  Another plus?  You can customize the neckline, sleeve type and tunic length to your exact specifications.  If that's not heaven, I don't know what is!

 

 

3.  Rainbow Ball Necklace by Tefi
This fabulous felt ball necklace is a great way to pop some color into any outfit and therefore, the perfect accessory for spring.  That is all. 

4.  Flower Flat Sandals by Madden Girl at Victoria's Secret
I can picture wearing these fabulous flower-adorned sandals with just about everything I own this summer.  And you can never be in a bad mood when you're wearing flowers on your feet!

 

5.  Pink Floral Pillow Covers by Marie's Cosy Cushions

These pillow covers don't match a thing in my apartment but they're just so darn pretty!  Maybe I can make them work at my office....

FIVE FAST FAVES: 02.18.10

It's time for another set of FIVE FAST FAVES, my round up of grown up goodies I'm loving this week!

1.  Terrific Tunics from H&M
I'm really digging tunics right now.  They're great for transitioning from winter to spring because you can wear them with leggings now and then with tights and eventually with bare legs.  And god, are they comfy! 

 
2.  Fanciful Fabrics
Sigh.  Aren't these swatches drool-worthy?   There's something about pretty fabrics that just makes me smile and this photo from the amazing NYC store Purl Soho brightened up my day today.  They're having a terrific sale on yarn and fabric right now so if you're in the market for some colorful craft supplies, head on over.  Now if I can just learn how to use my sewing machine, I'll have an excuse to buy such pretty pieces too!

 

3.  Recycled Water Bottle Flowers from Anthropologie

See this gorgeous window display and the close up of that beautiful blossom?  Would you believe they were made from old water bottles?  Happy Together has a full tutorial on how to make these recycled stunners.  You can prettify and save the environment simultaneously!




 4.  Pearlescent Trim Ring by Forever 21 
A statement ring perks up any outfit but it shouldn't have to break the bank.  Like this pearl and rhinestone number from Forever 21.  It may look like it costs the big bucks but actually, it's less than $5!  $4.80 to be exact.  Can't go wrong with that!

 

5.  Floral Button Ric Rac Pillow from Pier 1

The pillow has colorful flowers made from Ric Rac and accented with buttons!  How can you not want one?

FIVE FAST FAVES: 02.11.10

I know, I know.  This blog is supposed to be about fabulous finds for babies and kids.  But you know what?  Sometimes there are other things that catch my eye so once a week, I'm going to share those too.  Without further ado, the first edition of FIVE FAST FAVES, grown up goodies I'm loving this week!

 

1.  The Bonnie Nailhead Platform Sandals from Banana Republic
I adore these shoes.  Adore!  And they're part of BR's 40% off President's Day sale this weekend.  MUST.RESIST.TEMPTATION!

2.  The Talc Modern Boot Cut Denim Trousers from Ann Taylor Loft
I love white denim in the spring and summer (yes, I wear white before Labor Day!) and everyone in the know is saying that all-things nautical are in, in, in which makes these my ideal pair of jeans.  And guess what?  They're on sale for 50% off this weekend!  I'm being tortured in all directions.  Hmmmm, I do have a gift card to Loft that my boss got me for Christmas.  I may have to bust that baby out!  

3.  Peonies

I just love them.  And when I saw this fabulous photo on The Hostess Blog, it made me smile.  So yeah.  Peonies.



 

4.  Fleur de Sel Caramels by Have It Sweet
When it comes to things I love, caramel is near the top of the list.  Sea salt?  Also pretty high up there.  Put them together and what do you get?  My version of sweet and salty heaven!

5.  The Brocade Office Collection from the Container Store
I would get so much more work done with pretty accessories like this lace lovely on my desk.  I really would.  I swear!
